Giada La Manna was born in Palermo (Italy) in 1977. Though none in her family had anything to do with music she was always encouraged by her parents to sing.

Giada graduated from the School of Interpreters and Translators in Palermo.”I love foreign languages and cultures as well as travelling” she admits “so i combined these two things going to the US in the summer 1996 and to England one year later”.

She has been singing since 1993, starting in pubs and discos of her own town supported by many local bands. She realized soon to need something more exciting, so she formed a reggae band, Eccessivo, that gave her the possibility to sing around Italy and to participate in many music festivals such as Sanremo Giovani and Un disco per l’estate in 1997.

In 1998 Giada and The Eccessivo band attended many reggae concerts, “Tribute to Bob Marley” in Venice and “Mama Africa” in Modena were the most important. In the late November of this year she also took part as a backing singer in a theatrical performance called “Spirituals & Soul the blood's life”, that allowed her to be in contact with some of the most important recording studios in Italy. Reggae and jamaican influences are not palpable in her way of singing, but - as she says - Reggae teaches me to “feel music”, to introspect my soul...in this way your voice can mature into a rich and expressive instrument.

Actually, she welcomes with open arms every kind of high-energy, rhythmic music containing messages of positivity and self-confidence.”No great rules, just go wherever the music takes you!”. Giada’s favourite genres are pop, R&B and hip-hop; she is trying to put a little bit of these three in a freestyle way of singing, “when i reach a well-balanced conjunction i’ ll feel a complete artist” as she herself reveals.

In 1999 she met The Cop team producer Giacomo Vena, and it was the break for which she worked so long and hard. He proposed her to become the singer of a new developping Pop/Dance project, Sea Flowers making her debut with the first single Easy Livin'.
